ReplyDeleteMy son has inspired me to embrace my natural curls. He has a head full of curls and always says he likes that "mommy has hair like mine!" If he can love and embrace his curls as a small child, so can I.

ReplyDeleteI am inspired to embrace my curls because all my life, I was given the impression that since our kinks and/or curls were considered "nappy" and unmanageable,having your hair straightened was the way to go. When my mother cut her hair shorter new growth began to peak out and I looked and was like wow, that is some beautiful hair. She was going to perm it again but I told her that she should stay natural because it was really beautiful. then and there, I decided, well I haven't seen my natural hair since I was twelve years old and don't even remember how it looks, I don't have money to continue perming my hair, and I could never decide what style I wanted every time I went to the salon. and i decided that it was time I embraced what grows out of my head
ReplyDeleteMy mother inspired me to embrace my curls. A few years ago my mom was diagnosed with cancer. She had lost all her hair from the radiation treatments. So together we shaved our heads together and rediscovered our natural beauty and hair together. I then decided I didn't need a lot to be beautiful because my mom and I had our on natural beauty. So everyday I see my natural beauty and embrace my curls it reminds me of my mom and her struggle . So this is my inspiration to embrace my curls.
ReplyDeleteI inspired myself to embrace my curls. For so long growing up I loved nothing about myself from my hair down to my toes. I never thought I was pretty because of my hair my features or anything...I started to wear my natural hair and I felt different about myself. I started gaining more confidence and self esteem. None of my family like my natural hair but Im so in love with it until I really dont care about what they say about my hair. I feel beautiful naturally when wearing my curls. You also Tierra have inspired me to embrace my curls. I applaud you for helping females (like me) embrace their natural beauty! :) Much Love
